HDMI Matrix Switch Creates a web of HDMI Interconnections

A complex combination of HDMI source and display devices can be achieved using a HDMI Matrix Switch. It is used to route and relay HDMI Video from multiple inputs to multiple output devices simultaneously. By eliminating the need to disconnect and reconnect the devices, this piece of hardware saves time, effort and unnecessary clutter.
Since HDMI technology uses only a single cable to relay audio as well as video, high definition video and multi channel audio can be relayed as encrypted and uncompressed digital streams over a single thin cable. Hardware devices such as HD-DVD players, satellite set-top boxes, TiVo systems or PCs that are HDMI-equipped and HDCP-enabled are all compatible with this switch.

The HDMI Matrix supports a variety of form factors including 2x2, 4x2, 4x4 and 8x8 input - output configurations. In order to achieve larger distributions and multiple viewing combinations, one can daisy chain or stack these switches. Easy to install, and operating on simple plug and play functionality, setup requires only connecting the HDMI sources to the matrix's inputs and the displays to its outputs. Once powered on, the switch is ready to use. Control over the sources and displays can be exercised using infra red remote control, front panel push buttons or RS232, depending on model type. Indication of the selected source is
provided by the LEDs on the unit.
This HDMI Video Matrix Switch works at a HDTV resolution up to 1080p, 2k and computer resolution up to 1920 x 1200 and relays images without ghosting of images or data loss, resulting in crisp and clear images. The built-in repeater and equalized chipset can boost digital HD signal length and ensures that the resultant display is not pirated. A key feature is the ability to extend the range of HDMI compliant devices by equalizing and re-clocking the HDMI signal. Supporting a video amplifier bandwidth of 2.25 Gbps or 225 MHz, this device is equipped with regulatory approvals from CE, FCC and RoHS along with being compliant to HDMI and HDCP standards. This HDMI Matrix Switch finds usage in digital signage applications, commercial establishments and home theater set ups.
