Hardware Changes to Speed Up Your Computer - Read Ahead For Some Useful Info

There are numerous software applications in the market that will help you speed up your computer. However, you may be forced to make hardware changes to your computer if none of the options work. If installation of software applications does not improve the speed of your computer to your satisfaction, then you should opt for hardware changes.

You should first consider your hard disk capacity and the size of your RAM installed in your computer. The device uses these two parts for all its functions. Dual Core Processor and Better Graphics - A5 Chip

After the release of iPad 2 and some other smartphones coming up with faster dual core processors, we can surely expect the Apple A5 chip in the new iPhone. The A5 contains a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore CPU and a dual-core PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU. Apple lists the A5 to be clocked at 1 GHz on the iPad 2′s technical specifications page, though it can dynamically adjust its frequency to save battery life. Apple states that the CPU is twice as powerful and the GPU up to nine times as powerful as its predecessor, the Apple A4.

Another important aspect of this chip is how efficient it is in terms of Battery Life. With the Launch of iPad 2, Apple announced a Battery life of 10 Hrs even with its improved hardware and performance. The same thing can be expected from iPhone 5.

Near Field Communication

A lot of rumors have been there whether iPhone 5 will incorporate Near Field Communication Hardware within it or not. Now considering that Google Nexus S featuring NFC technology, and Blackberry also planning to use NFC for its smartphones, Apple may not be behind them. Apple will try its best to incorporate NFC in its next generation iPhone 5. After all, Apple has been known to bring the Best to the iPhone.

What kind of Display will iPhone 5 have?

Currently the iPhone 4 has a retina Display with a resolution of 960 x 640 pixels in area. This is by far the highest resolution in any smartphone available in the Market. According to the reports the new iPhone 5 will continue to have the same screen resolution. Another reason why Apple wouldn't change their resolution is that it may be a problem with the App Development. Even though the iPhone 4 supports retina display but a majority of Applications' interface is designed to keeping the older phones in mind. Home Security Hardware

When considering your home security checklist - windows are the weakest point in the layout of any home. Glass is easy to shatter, to cut, and to remove. Thus, it is in your best interest to make the windows of your home as inaccessible as possible. Securing your windows can take many forms, as we'll see, and with a little work your home's weakest point will quickly become the strongest.

Prickly Shrubs
First off, consider planting the more unpleasant bushes beneath your windows to protect them from peeping toms or would-be thieves. Prickly shrubs or thick, stiff hedges are your best bet for this security method. You'll want something with thick branches, and, if possible, thorns. There are many plants that possess unpleasant defensive measures, and with a bit of patience, your green guardians will keep your windows as safe as bars or dogs.

Bars
Speaking of bars, iron or titanium bars on your windows are another route for home security. Thick bars, evenly spaced, can prevent determined thieves from entering your windows. Bear in mind, however, that a stubborn thief may try removing the bars through force - essentially bending them or popping them off of the wall of your home. Bars are also quite unsightly, as security measures go. However, this can work somewhat in your favor. Barred windows warn potential thieves that you have security measures in place... something which can deter crime more effectively than any other security measure.

Reinforce
An alternative to bars is to simply reinforce the window frame and the glass itself. This will be a cosmetic improvement, but it won't be quite as strong. Reinforced glass will help with a smash-and-grab artist, but it can still be cut. Double glazing can deter glass-cutters, but it'll block your view.

Multiple Locks
Multiple locks will keep your windows from being jimmied open easily. Sash bolts and other heavy locks can hold a window closed through most everything short of a window being shattered. Extra locks are a sensible investment for your windows, whatever other measures you put in place. Making your windows as hard to open as possible is a good way of ensuring that you do not forget to lock them back after opening them.

Crushed Glass
Guarding your window sills is almost as important a protecting the windows themselves. A scattering of crushed glass or sharpened debris can be both inconspicuous as well as detrimental to anyone attempting to boost themselves up over the window sill. The same placed tactfully around below the window is also handy in keeping prowlers away from the side of your home.

Decals
Home security decals pasted to the inside of the window so that it can be read from the outside can deter a burglar. It may be a bluff but then again it might be true that a very capable security system is working in the home. The intruder has to consider the gamble - should he break and enter or should he look for easier marks?

As the major easy entry point for possible prowlers, the windows of your home should be your number one priority to improve security for home protection. Windows are good spots for the cheaper methods such as hardware, prickly bushes, decals, and broken glass scattered on the window sill. A combination of making the burglar uncomfortable and him seeing that it won't be easy getting into this home, might make him choose to move on to another house and leave yours alone.

Data Warehousing

Data Warehousing was an innovation from the 90's that promised to change the data landscape for good. How far have we come? Many vendors have entered the marketplace because it makes sense to bring together data from throughout the organization, and this will continue to make sense in the future.

How large the Data Warehouse market will grow nobody knows yet. But for sure it is still growing fast, and currently is estimated at 4,5 billion dollar per year (IDC).

1. Why Do Data Warehouse Projects Run Into Scope Creep?

To quote Bill Inmon (guru and author of several great books on Data Warehousing) "Traditional projects start with requirements and end with data. Data Warehousing projects start with data and end with requirements." As soon as the project gets under way, users will find new applications, and with it will come new requests for data. Interestingly, these projects often are justified by moving Q&R work away from the 'data people'. What we've seen is that the first thing that happens as soon as the project delivers is that more requests for special queries are submitted to these same 'data people'. This may appear to undermine the initial business case but actually signals the onset of value creation from the DWH project.

2. Star Schema Versus Entity Relation Model?

There has been enormous debate in the community about the merits of different data models. At the risk of over simplifying: ER models tend to have better performance (processing time) for the end user, and are often perceived as "easier" to understand by end users. Drawbacks are that ER models require more disk space, and, because of the intrinsic redundancy in the data, have consistency problems from a maintenance perspective. Having said this, the practice seems to be that often some combination of the two is unavoidable in the practical setting, despite preferences (ER or Star) of the chief architects. Overall, Star models seem to have gained the most ground.

3. The Importance of a Data Warehouse Business Case

Much has been written about the business case for a Data Warehouse. What goes in to a good business case? IT savings are ubiquitous in DWH business cases. The important point is to not limit this to 'pure' savings, but to connect to primary business processes as much as possible. As an example, faster turnaround cycles for list selections are fine (when quantified in hourly rates), but it is even better if the revenue from more customer acquisitions that follow from these selections can be tied in. Not only will the relation to revenue growth rather than savings make for a more balanced business case, more important is the intrinsic business buy-in that results from a direct connection to the company bottom line. These days, changes in legislation (in particular Sarbanes-Oxley) play a major role in justifying business cases. This may be either through a higher company valuation for its transparent information gathering, or, less sleepless night for the CEO, which is of course priceless...

4. Why Do Data Warehouse Projects 'Never' Go Wrong?

Actually, Data Warehouse projects do sometimes fail. But, they fail so rarely, that it is actually very hard to believe... Especially after having talked to so many disgruntled end-users. And there are many ways a Data Warehouse project can go wrong. Delivering on time, data administration issues, and unavoidable data quality issues in feeding systems. Corporate politics (see Tip 7) are probably the best explanation for this phenomenon of near 100% success rates on DWH projects. In my experience, the reason why a failure or 'semi-failure' can go unnoticed is either because senior management is not aware, or, let's say "unmotivated" to talk about misspending of company funds. As a result, not enough is learned. Maybe we as consultants have a stake in this as well, as this assures the industry plenty of ongoing business... J

5. What is Different About Warehousing Web Data?

Kimball & Merz (2000): "Although this clickstream data in many cases is raw and unvarnished, it has the potential of providing unprecedented detail about every gesture made by every human being using the Web medium". The subatomic nature of clickstream data poses unique challenges. There are fewer built in feedback mechanisms to ensure data quality, compared to other data streams. The relation between user mouse clicks and server log records is not as tight as in "traditional" transaction processing due to technical issues like proxy servers and caching. Because of these differences, IT people need to adapt to the web process flow, rather than having the process adapt to IT needs as is common for most other DWH interfaces.

6. Which Data Should Be loaded In The Data Warehouse?

The data that enter the DWH ultimately determine its place in the organization. A "let's load all data, to be safe"-attitude is a sure fire way to derail your DWH project. Choices as to what should and should not be included need to be made early on, to keep the project manageable. After proven success of the delivered, deployed, and profitably exploited DWH, there always will be funding somewhere to include previously ignored interfaces. Given the anticipated lifecycle of the DWH, it makes perfect sense to consciously exclude certain sources. The choice as to what data to include needs to be driven by business considerations, and in particular reference to the company bottom line. If it can't be shown how data will be put to use profitably, they stay out! See also tip #3.

7. Data Warehousing & Company Politics

Data Warehouses have an impact on the company bottom line. Hence, they are likely candidates for turf battles, and are also at risk of becoming "small change" in budget allocation negotiations. None of these considerations benefit corporate long term goals. Managing a DWH project is hard enough as it is, and budget issues shouldn't make it any harder than it already is. Because DWH investments are in the present and revenues lie in the future, it is even more important to secure funding through a sound business case and buy-in from the appropriate (high) management level. See also Tip #3. Access to data means power, and talking about power is one of the greatest management taboos, still around. Sensitive as they are, even budgets are more readily discussed...

8. Data Warehouse Projects Traps

Some commonly recurring 'roadblocks' on the path to timely delivery of a Data Warehouse project:

ETL processes have eaten up so much time (and still need "babysitters"), that little if any time is left to develop applications needed to exploit the DWH
Some data are needed, but turn out not to be unavailable, or not in a timely fashion
Maintenance required for tuning, indexing, and backup and recovery is severely underestimated
Different ways of calculating the same phenomenon lead to different results, and nobody is able to conclusively explain the difference(s)
The data that is loaded (and recombined) turn out to contain previously unknown inconsistencies in the source systems, the 'classic' data quality issues that trip DWH projects
Metadata were lacking, and developers spend inordinate amounts of time finding out what a field really 'means'

9. DWH Hardware and Software Go Hand in Hand
In Data Warehousing, it is not about hardware, and not about software: it is about the perfect integration of these two. Those who begin their project from either end, will pay dearly for this mistake. Reasons are:

· in terms of price/performance, new, pre-integrated hardware-software combinations are taking the lead

· from a project management perspective, you never want to be caught between vendors when a proposed solution doesn't work as expected

· database tuning and indexing is very important and a hugely complex job, necessarily left to specialists (in-house trained)

10. Performance is Key

Although I don't often find technology factors to be this important, in Data Warehouse acceptance, no other factor will be as important as performance. As size increases over time, this factor becomes even more important. There are three reasons for this:

performance has a huge impact on the development speed (initial load is always very time consuming), and hence the overall maturity of the DWH at delivery time
performance can make or break end-user acceptance, in particular the predictability of performance
performance has a tremendous impact on end user productivity, the ultimate driver of the business pay-off

How to Overclock Your PC

As the focus of computing continues to be on speed, more and more people are looking towards getting every bit of get up and go out of their PC. Yes, you can always just go out and buy the most expensive rig you can afford. However, with just a few simple steps you can overclock your CPU to make your PC run much faster. The good thing is that you don't have to be a computer expert to perform a basic CPU overclock-and you don't have to risk frying your system.

Now, for our purposes, we will be focusing on a basic, modest CPU overclock. Thus, if you are a computer guru/overclock expert looking to push your system to the brink, it is very likely that you will not get much out of this piece. However, if you are one of the many that know enough about computing and wanting to take a "baby step" into the hallowed ground of the computer "power user"-albiet safely-then read on.

Each CPU has what is called a clock multiplier and a base clock (bclock). (Note that with Core 2 Duo and AMD processors the base clock is called frontside bus).

So, for example, if the multiplier is set at 20x and the bclock is set at 133mhz, then you get 2,660 Mhz for base speed. If we want to increase the speed, we must first go into the Bios and slowly increase the bclock. For a Core i cpu with a base of 2.6 Ghz with a 20x multiplier, I can safely bump up the bclock to 150Mhz without running into problems. That is a 3,000Mhz or 3.0Ghz speed. We won't worry about increasing the multiplier, partially because some processors don't allow it and mostly because we want to keep it simple.

With Core 2 Duo or AMD processors, you can execute roughly the same settings. However, AMD CPUs have a couple more things that you have to look out for

The main thing is to be careful that you do not increase the north bridge speed and/or HyperTransport speed. Sometimes, these will automatically increase as you bump up the frontside bus (bclock), so you might have to go back and reset them manually. Be sure you record their starting values as a point of reference before changing anything.

With all CPUs, you will definitely have to check voltage levels if you are performing a significant overclock. A good point of reference is, of course, to search the web for specifics on your type of chip. There are a good many forums available, and we have found the majority of posters to be very open with their advice on overclocking a particular chip. A few good ones to mention are hard forums, tech forms.net, and Toms hardware. Chances are, you will find someone who has performed an overclock on your PC's CPU and hardware.

Drum Hardware For a Complete Drum Set

A drum set is like a well-built house with foundation and framework. This framework includes pedals, stands, toms, lugs, hoops, tension rods, and racks. And the foundations are the drum shells. All these together make up the drum hardware. Just like a house cannot be built without foundation and pillars, the drum is incomplete without the hardware because it acts as the pillar of the whole set. Each of the hardware has different role to play.

Drum hardware basically refers to various kinds of stands that hold up the drum and the cymbals. Let us start with the most important pieces that play a vital role in building up the set as well as the sound.

The pieces of metal that are attached to the side of the drum are the lugs. The main aim of the lugs is to attach the hoops or rim, which is fixed with the help of tension rods. Hoops mainly hold the drumhead in place and even help in tuning it.

Coming to the drum shells, it refers to the material used in the drum. Like, beginner's kits are made up of basswood or mahogany but higher kits are made up of more costly woods to get better sound quality.

Adding next piece of the hardware, i.e. the pedals. They are available in different types like, single chain drive, dual chain, belt driven, single spring pedal, dual spring pedal and pedal with footboards. Among them the dual chain pedals are harder and can take heavy foot. Even pedals with dual spring are much better than the single one. The footboard pedals are the high-end pedals and are strongest. Therefore, a combination of dual chain, dual spring and footboard makes a tough pedal.

Next important parts of the hardware are the stands. Stands give support to the whole set to provide proper positioning to it. The types includes:

- Boom stand: The most longest of the other hardware, the boom stand provides easy positioning to the cymbals anywhere around the kits.

- Cymbal stand: This hardware not only supports the cymbals but also hold toms, cowbells and tambourines as well.

- Hi-Hat stand: This is one of the vital parts of the hardware. It is like a straight cymbal stand that has a spring-operated pedal connected to a rod that opens and closes the top hi-hat cymbal. This cymbal is linked with the clutch that has a hole in the middle where the rod fits and is protected in the open position by a screw. The drummer needs to place both the feet on the pedal, while using hi-hats in the closed position, and just hit the lever and the hats drop. And has to do vice-versa to reset it to the open position.

- Snare stand: A snare is played most of the time and so it is necessary to have a solid snare stand. It is better to use double braced snare stand rather than using single braced that are light weighted and move often.

Another important part of the drum hardware is the toms. They are greater than the stands by 14'' and have legs to stand on their own. Once the drum is assembled it is mounted on the toms. It should be mentioned here that the sound quality of the drum depends on its positioning on the toms.

How to Choose a Great Domain Name

Most websites are associated with a domain name. The concept is simple, it is much easier to remember a name like google.com rather than a numerical address like 216.239.51.99. Highly desirable domains names are becoming more and more difficult to acquire, especially with favored extensions like .com and .net. With major industries like domain trading, traders are rapidly devouring desirable domain names.

Domain Extensions

Currently certain extensions are more desirable than others and some extensions are intended to categorize. For example, the .org extension is traditionally used to categorize non-profit organizations. Likewise a .gov extension is intended to categorize government websites. There are country extensions as well such as .ca (Canada) or .jp (Japan) in an attempt to organize registrations by nation.

Ideally a domain name should be short and not easily misspelled. Preferably, target top level domain (TLD) extensions from the original Internet specification such as .com, .net, .edu, or .org. Be sure the extension is appropriate to what the website is about. A .org extension may be appropriate for a church but not for a florist. For highly desirable domain names a .biz or other less popular extension may be a reasonable trade off. For example, google.biz would be much better than googlebestdarnsite.com.

For the general public .com is still the favored and most sought out extension. Being one of the original Internet specifications, this may still lead users to assume a .com extension. This may be true today but this may change in the future. As .biz and other extensions become more popular, users may become more apt to note extensions. The most important thing goes back to the basic principal of domain names, make it easy to remember.

Domain Naming

A domain name that specifically names a business may be ideal. However, specifics are becoming much more difficult to acquire. You may be doing business as Toms Hardware, but may discover all desirable domain names and extensions are all ready taken. Another option may be to pair a key word with a random word or even pair two random words. For example, snapfish.com (no affiliation) is an online photo service. Short, two words not easily misspelled, and a .com extension. While snap may be associated with a photo service the word fish doesn't exactly fit in, except in the world of domain naming. Random pairing of this sort is becoming more difficult as well but offers a better chance of scoring a valuable domain name. Target desirable words, short, appealing, and not easily misspelled. For example, anhinga could easily be misspelled and would not be an ideal domain name unless the site was specifically about anhingas.

Domain Trading

As mentioned earlier, domain trading is a major industry. There are many domain auction sites where you may be able to acquire your preferred domain name. Domain trading sites offer thousands of domains for sale to be purchased directly or through an auction. Domain names are often appraised, trading sites may have a huge listing for under $1,000. More desirable domain names in the multi thousand dollar range. In rare cases a domain may sell for tens of thousands in U.S. dollars, and in very rare cases more than one million U.S. dollars. With registration fees for a new domain often less than $10 the domain trading market is growing very rapidly. If you have a very specific domain you wish to acquire you may be able to look up the current registrant in a "whois" database and make an offer.

Domain Searching

Be patient, take some time to do a thorough domain name search. Consider all the possible variants that may be appropriate. The challenge of finding a great domain may take many hours but could be well worth the effort. Remember the principal of domain names in the first place, making it easy for your audience to remember how to get to your site.

My Video Card Overheating?

Other than specific things that you might encounter from using 3d accelerated applications such as video editing and gaming, there really isn't any way of indicating that your video card is overheating. In short, if you're not using any video intensive applications on your system, it can be near impossible to determine whether your graphics card is overheating. Fortunately for you, there's a solution to this problem.

To begin with, go online and download and install a program called Everest. You may find that all the versions of this software are commercial, but if you do a thorough search on Google it is possible to find the freeware version.

Once you have this program installed onto your computer, your next task is to click on the tab for temperature; this process is fairly self-explanatory; so you shouldn't have much difficultly here. Once you've done this, then you'll need to locate your video card.

There is a problem to this however.

How do you determine whether or not your graphics card is overheating? Graphics cards have wildly varying temperatures, so there's no average temperature that you can use to determine whether or not its overheating. However, the answer to this problem is fairly simple:

Create a thread on a computer forum like Toms Hardware about your current video card; ask the forumers what temperature your card should be running at. The response you get might vary from individual to individual, but you should monitor the current temperatures your getting on your video card to see whether it's unusually high compared to your responses, if it is, then you know you card has a heat problem.

CPU Guide

CPU - Central Processing Unit

The brain of the computer. A lot of people like to call the entire computer case the CPU, but actually, the CPU is a tiny chip connected directly to the motherboard, with a big fan connected directly to it. Without the fan, the CPU would burn up very quickly.

There are two primary brands of CPU on the market right now, Intel & AMD. A better of the two is hard to state, but you can check Toms Hardware for more in depth hardware reviews.

One thing to note about CPU's is that you can't just slap any CPU into any Motherboard. The Motherboard must support your specific CPU, which can make upgrades very hairy, so typically, if you're going to upgrade one, it's a good idea to upgrade the other. There are also two different types of CPU's, socket and slot. Socket snaps directly into the motherboard, with a fan directly attached, while slot has a casing which holds the CPU, with a fan connected to the casing. Again, there really is no better of the two, but Socket is becoming more common, and is generally easier to keep cool, which is a BIG factor in CPU's at higher speeds.

CPU speeds are rated in Megahertz (Mhz), up to 1000, then they are referred to as Gigahertz (Ghz). One major misconception regarding CPU's is that the bigger the number (the megahertz/gigahertz), the faster the CPU. While this is generally true, there are several other factors that effect the overall speed of the CPU.

Front Side Bus - Regulates the speed of communication between the Ram and the CPU

Onboard Cache - Comparable to Ram, except used strictly by the CPU to speed up calculations

So the next time you're shopping for CPU's, remember to not only look at the CPU speed, but check out the other factors most people don't generally notice.
When buying a CPU, it's very important to know what you need it for. Most basic users only need internet and some word processing and basic picture editing. Using Windows XP (since it's the most common home Operating System right now) 2.0 Ghz should be your minimum. This speed is just right for these basic functions, and should be fast enough to last a while, and most of all, it is very cheap.

Dual Monitors

Every time I do a hardware upgrade to my Computer, I feel mildly disappointed. I upgrade my memory and/or processor and my computer does go faster but never anything that blows your socks off.

Recently though, I made an upgrade to my system that truly did impress me. I purchased a set of dual monitors. I purchased two seventeen inch middle of the road flat screen monitors. You have to have a video card that has a second output on it and both outputs should be DVI. DVI stand for Digital Video Interface and basically means the types of cables, ports and connectors used to connect high quality video cards to monitors.

Don't let dual monitors scare you. It's very easy to set up. Just plug both monitors into the video card. Don't worry about what monitor is plugged into what connector. You can always switch the left monitor with the right monitor on your desk. Some video card drivers will also allow you to choose what monitor is left or right, top or bottom. Once the monitors are attached turn on your computer. Both monitors may or may not show an image. Once your computer is on right click your desktop and go to properties. Now you are in video properties. Find the tab that shows dual monitors and enable your second monitor. You can not adjust the resolution (screen size) on each monitor. That's it you now have a screen double the size.

Once you have set it up and configured it properly you should try and get a program to give you a few more options while using your dual monitors. I used a program called UltraMon which allows me to maximize my dual monitor functionality.

Once things are working properly you can have a task bar on both monitors. You can have different windows open on each monitor and with one click you can switch the window back and forth. This is really great for cutting and pasting from one page to the other. If you are a webpage or graphic designer it makes your life a lot easier and your time spent more efficient
I found once I started using my new Dual Monitors, I couldn't go back to using a single one.

HP F1723 LCD Monitor Repair

This HP1723 17" LCD Monitor came in with the complaint of no power. Upon further inspection I could hear a soft intermittent sound coming from the both front speakers. Since the speakers can produce some sound, this indicates that the power supply should be working fine and it may be some bad components located at the secondary side that had caused the power supply voltage to drop not to start. The power LED doesn't light because the signal was coming from the Microcontroller (MCU) IC. This means that if the MCU did not receive the right voltage from the power supply, it will not send output voltage to the power LED.

As usual, to open LCD Monitor cover , one have to be careful of not scratching or leaving a mark on the plastic casing otherwise the customer may not want to accept his or her broken or badly scratch LCD Monitor. Once the cover have been removed, you have to remove another four screws (two at each side) in order to take out the power/inverter and the Main board. For some LCD Monitors, the moment you have open the cover, you could easily remove all the boards.

The power supply and the inverter circuit are in one board while the Main board and the audio board are in separate board. As mentioned before in my previous articles, I do not immediately begin to troubleshoot and repair any board unless I have scanned all the components with my eyes first. The power supply/inverter board look very new and the most obvious sign that I could see was two filter capacitors (1000uf 16 Volt) had a slight bulge on top of its casing. I believe these bulged electrolytic capacitors that had caused the power supply not to function properly. I have checked all other e-caps too but all found to be good.

Usually whenever a filter capacitor located at the secondary side of switch mode power supply (SMPS) have a too high ESR value, the voltage will drop more than half causing many circuits won't work. Since I already found the bad e-caps, I have to be certain that the secondary diodes (this LCD Monitor is using Schottky diodes) don't go faulty or leaky too. Upon checking the Schottky diodes (part number are SRF20100C and SP10150) I found both of them to be working fine. Replacing only the two bad e-caps with a good one solved the LCD Monitor problem.

Now get this, if you want to be good in any electronic equipment repair, if possible analyze other circuits too. That means if you every time replace only the fuse and the bridge rectifier you won't learn anything beyond that problem and you will get bored easily. Let's take my case for example, after the replacement of the capacitors I will usually analyze other circuits too like finding out what kind of part numbers certain components are using, which type of the inverter circuit is belong to i.e. Buck Royer or direct drive?, why each backlight circuit are using four ballast capacitors?, How many backlights the LCD Monitor is using, what is the inverter IC part number, what is the supply voltage to the inverter IC? How many LED bar lighted up when test on the secondary winding of the high voltage transformer? What would happen if I pull out one of the backlight (will it still work or shut down?). What is the brightness line voltage if set to minimum and maximum? You have to answer all of these questions if you want to be good at LCD Monitor repair. You can apply this kind of questions on other electronic equipment too. This is a continuous process of learning how to be good in electronic repair.

I don't want you to replace caps or fuse everyday without knowing how other circuits function or what are the components used in other circuits. Although to analyze other circuits take you lots of time but I can guarantee you that the time you have spent are worth it. You won't be able to go far if you have set your thinking by just changing components and not knowing the surrounding. If you want to improve in electronic repair then you need a change of mindset in you and only you yourself can make the different! Try this approach and I believe troubleshooting electronic or LCD Monitor repair will never be the same again. Have a great and a fantastic year!
