Composite Matrix Switch: Allows a Matrix Pattern of Video Connections

Multiple composite video and audio sources can be connected to multiple composite display devices with the help of a composite matrix switch. As the name suggests, this device creates a range of interconnection possibilities allowing any source device to be connected to any display unit or the same source to be connected to all the displays. Available in form factors of 4x4, 8x4, 8x8 and 8x2, with desktop as well as rack mountable versions, these switches support standard analog video resolutions. The main advantage of using this switch is that it completely eliminates the need for switching around the audio and video input cables.
Compatible with audio and video equipment such as cable and satellite receivers, computers, video scalers, DVD players and VCRs, this composite Video Matrix Switch is used where standard formats such as NTSC, PAL and SECAM are required. Since it works on simple plug and play principle, a user just needs to connect the source device to the input ports on the switch and the display units to the output ports. Once powered on, this switch is ready to operate. Requiring no additional software or device drivers for operation, these switches are equipped with LEDs which indicate the status. Control and switching is done using front panel push buttons, RS232 and via infra red remote control. Standard features of the composite matrix switcher include a video bandwidth greater than 20 MHz, video distortion and audio distortion less than 1.2db and 0.6db respectively along with Channel Isolation and S/N Ratio greater than 50db.
A unit formed by combining a video splitter and a video switch, it is a device enclosed in a sturdy metal case. Equipped with agency approvals from FCC, RoHS and CE, these switches consume less power with a full load under 750 mA. Signals supported are as follows: S-video via mini-din 4 pin female connectors, Composite video via BNC female connectors and stereo audio via 2x RCA female connectors. In terms of application, the composite matrix switch is ideally used in multiple sectors such as classrooms, command centers, test bench facilities, government and military applications and so forth
