Rackmount Monitor

A Rackmount Monitor is an industrial grade display device mounted on a steel or aluminum rack. Attached to a metal frame with holes that correspond to holes in the steel bars on the rack, this unit is normally used in industrial or commercial environments. Classified on the basis of the rack sizes or on the basis of functionality, these units are either available in sizes ranging from 1U, 6U, 7U, 8U and 9U LCDs, or models like short or shallow depth LCDs, sunlight readable LCDs or Quad screen LCDs. While the shallow depth drawers are designed for smaller than normal server racks, the sunlight readable ones are designed for bright environments. Lastly, the Quad screen devices are used majorly in surveillance applications as they allow four different video feeds to be viewed on a single display.

Easy to install, all models of the Rack LCD operate on simple plug and play functionality and do not require any additional software or device drivers. Available in screen sizes ranging from 17", 19" and 20" Samsung they support video connections such as VGA, HDMI, DVI-D, Composite, S-Video, BNC, HDMI and Touch Screen (Resistive, Capacitive and Infrared). The resultant images are crisp and clear with resolutions ranging from range from 1024x768 up to 1600x1200. Among all models, the most popular variant is the 1U variant since it is equipped with a unique flip up design that allows the unit to remain open even when the rack door is closed. Hot pluggable; these units have LEDs depicting the power status.

The Rackmount LCD device has a black anodized aluminum front panel with slide rails that prevent movement of the keyboard while typing. Some models also have additional security features in the form of front access locks. OSD controls allow adjustment of Brightness, Contrast, Color, Clock, H. Position, V. Position, Phase, Scaling, Auto config, Input select, Multi window, Clear EEPROM and Save. Offering multi platform support, these units work well with IBM, HP, Dell, SUN Microsystems and Mac's and has 12V, 24V, and 48V DC power options. They are also equipped with an analog-to-digital signal converter board and a unique mechanical design to maximize rack mountable space.

Compliant with all agency approvals such as FCC, CE, VCCI, TAA as well as RoHS, the Rackmount Monitor is used in both commercial and industrial applications. They are especially beneficial for network support and data centers where space is a limitation. These units are also used effectively by network administrators to control multiple PCs. These features make this device a unique piece of hardware.
